The Militarization of Local Police: SWATting Americans

The excessive use of lethal SWAT force is epidemic; the Feds encourage this with gifts of military equipment to local police, who got along fine without it. When cops put a military attack on a citizen's residence, often the wrong address even, they should be fired, all of them, not reprimanded. The consequences are too often disastrous, not for the cops, but for the citizens, their children, (and their animal friends).

The new cop motto should read: "TO PROTECT AND SERVE COPS".
