Response to Libro Lector

Libro lector,
Regarding Planned Parenthood,
[Note: blogger is changing the embedded links in the final post; I don't know why. You'll have to cut and paste the links at the end of this post.]
The numbers are public domain: $330 million from the pockets of federal taxpayers, the rest from state taxpayers. I believe the funding was blocked in 2011 by congressional Republicans. Also, looking at the PP financial audit, less is reported than the apparent Title X federal contribution.

Wash. Times

NYT

huffpo

When an organization does X and Y, and is funded only for X, the dollars saved in the X account go into the Y account. Basic economics. Planned Parenthood is unsupervised, and the audits which it has done are not easily dissected into actual functions.
However, there is information here and here, and PP’s refutation is here.

  1. Just on my way out, it looks like some of those last links are messed up.

Does this blogging system do that a lot?

  2. "It is quite interesting that you fail to mention the $500,000,000 of taxpayer money that is diverted to the killing of in utero humans purely at the whim of the female parent and without any semblance of oversight or ethical principle."

Isn't the figure actually zero dollars since tax funding cannot be allocated for abortions?
More than 97% of what Planned Parenthood does is not abortions so the entirety of the money Planned Parenthood receives is not used for abortions.
Isn't the fact that there is oversight make your claim that there isn't wrong?

You can fix the links by removing the part that reads "http://atheism-analyzed.blogspot.com/2012/06/%E2%80%9D"

  3. What oversight are you referring to? An audit is not an oversight, except of the books. Where the money actually went is not confirmed. That's one reason that some outfits have "affiliates" and refer only to "services". Abortion is not mentioned financially iirc.

  4. Something is screwy on blogger today. It bound up my computer totally to the point that I had to remove power. They are demanding that we bloggers change over to their new system, which I dislike intensely. Maybe they are progressively abandoning the old one.
