Har! Nice try Denise. AGW is just a bandwagon paradigm which has professional, financial and political carrots dangled in front of it to entice those types to protect their investment in it mightily.
Paradigm shifts are necessary for progress in objective science, but they are painful to those who are invested in the paradigm which is being replaced.

If I didn't know you I'd swear this sentence is about oil companies and our reliance on fossil fuels...
Fossil fuel will disappear exactly when a better solution arises, technically. If fuel cells had an obviously viable near future, oil stocks would show the effects. That's more of an economic issue than a scientific knowledge issue, and that's the difference.
But yes, those who fail to see it when it approaches will suffer if it overtakes them and they remain invested.
