Allocating Scarce Medical Interventions: Ezekiel Emmanuel Places a Value on Your Life.

Ezekiel Emmanuel, M.D./Bioethicist, is the architect of the looming healthcare / death allocation bill now in Congress. The 1000 page bill is just now being analyzed and leaked out to the public, the one thing that Obama did not want to happen in his panicky rush to get it passed without being read. The author of this bill, health advisor to Obama and brother of Rahm Emmanuel, revealed his ideas about health care management in an article co-published in Lancet on Jan 31, 2009, where several types of healthcare rationing algorithms are analyzed.

Most, like the “First Come First Served” algorithm are rejected, FCFS being disliked due to favoring the wealthy and the “connected”.

However, one method stands out. This is the “Complete Lives System” which places values on people based on how much of their life they have completed, along with the relative initial value of the person. For instance old people have completed much of their lives and are of little retained value. Babies have not received any social and personal investment compared with teenagers, so babies are worth very little while teenagers are worth much more due to the investment placed in them.

Fortunately they included a graph to allow us all to evaluate our personal values according to the “Complete Lives System” of Medical Allocation:




It should be clear that unborn humans have no value whatsoever in this scheme, and that care for people over 40 is iffy. And once you retire, well, you’re done, aren’t you?

Keep in mind that this man designed the 1000 page health plan which the nation is about to received in suppository form. The one thing that is known about the bill so far is that it requires “death counseling” for elders to show them their options for dying. And suicide was specifically kept off the codicil of unacceptability by a Democrat majority vote. An abortion amendment, also by Democrat majority vote, does a deceptive two-step to allow abortion coverage and to require it to be available in all regions.

There will be more revealed about the bill soon, as it gets fully read and sorted through. No doubt there will be many of our current rights that are relieved for our own good, as the statist "ethicists" determine is proper.

Using "Cash for Clunkers" To Confiscate Computers.

Glenn Beck exposes the dirtiness of your government at work. When accessing the government website for the Cash For Clunkers, the following message pops up, in a fashion similar to a privacy statement:

‘This application provides to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a federal computer system and it is property of the United States government,'" Beck read. "‘Any and all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign.'"

Also,

Kimberly Guilfoyle, a legal analyst for Fox News interpreted the language to mean the government has very broad authority over your computer - including the ability to seize personal and private information.

"Could it be any more broad or frightening?" Guilfoyle said. "Here you are trying to be a good citizen and make a charitable contribution, do something that's good and guess what - they are jumping right inside you, seizing all of your personal and private information and it's absolutely legal Glenn."

Guilfoyle also said legally the government can use Web software to track your computer any time they want once you've logged into the site.

"They can continue to track you basically forever," Guilfoyle said. "Once they've tapped into your system, and the government of course has like malware systems and tracking cookies - they can tap in any time they want."

Because the only ethic for the Alinski Left is "success, regardless", we can expect that EVERY program, decree, and 1000 page bill will contain language that allows the government to confiscate property and nullify rights. And like this case they will be camouflaged as privacy statements or other benignities. How much more not-privacy could this confiscation be than to seize your computer files and give them to foreign officials?

Nothing is exempt from an ethic-free culture and its government.

Who To Believe?

Tonight I watched a vaguely reassuring commentary on PBS’s evening news that said that the stock market had seen an upturn in the economy, and was responding with positive gains; the end of the recession was heavily implied. I then came across an AP report on Breitbart.com that reported the rest of the story:

“On Friday, a government report revealed more weakness in the economy, sending investors in search of safe-haven assets like Treasurys.
“The Commerce Department said the nation's gross domestic product, a measure of the economy's total output, fell at a slower-than-expected pace of 1 percent in the second quarter. But the revised first-quarter GDP contraction came in much lower, at 6.4 percent from 5.5 percent, the worst quarterly reading in nearly 30 years.”

“The report also said consumers cut spending by 1.2 percent in the second quarter, after a slight increase in the previous three-month period. The latest data suggesting a slow recovery helped draw money to bonds, which tend to do well in times of low inflation and muted economic growth”.

And,

“Investors also found some relief Friday in the fact that the Treasury's week of record auctions was over. The government issued more than $200 billion of new debt this week.”

$200 billion of new debt?? At a rate of every two weeks, that’s $5.2 Trillion per year. New Debt.

If we are going bankrupt, let’s borrow even more money. We can fix it all later with some therapeutic inflation. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Then at bloomberg.com, this:

"The first 12 months of the U.S. recession saw the economy shrink more than twice as much as previously estimated, reflecting even bigger declines in consumer spending and housing, revised figures showed."

Read the whole thing if you're interested in the figures. What I want to know is what it will look like the next time they revise the numbers.

It's Not About the Truth: Black Racism and Gatesgate.

The Odyssey of Professor Gates gets nastier and more revealing with time. Professor Gates was arrested after breaking into his rented home and allegedly becoming hostile when confronted by officers. A white officer took him into custody, and Gates screamed "racism!", and subsequently filed a lawsuit against the officer. Obama said that the cops acted stupidly and went on to justify it with long references to black abuse by white officers.

However, other black officers were there and support the white officer's actions. And one black officer claimed to regret her vote for Obama.

Now these officers are taking heat from racist blacks for their support of the white officer. According to an AP report found on Yahoo, officer Sgt. Leon Lashley was there at the time, supported the arrest, and now is being called an "Uncle Tom". And the officer who recanted her vote for Obama is under attack from blacks for taking a position supporting a white, not the black.

Racism is alive and well within the black community. But do you suppose that such racial attacks will be pursued under Hate Crimes?

I don't.

The Very Secret Birth Certificate

Now that even members of congress are chiming in on Obama's secret birth certificate it seems time to boil it down. The murkiness that needs boiling is now contained in a long but detailed investigation by a purported ex-CIA agent. I don't know who this agent is nor his qualifications. But the documentation should be pursued, because the charge is serious: fraud by the president of the USA.

From my vantage point there are three facts and one question:

1. The computer generated "certification" that was noisily produced is not, and could never have been the actual birth certificate. Computers didn't do that sort of thing back in '61. And Hawaii admits that such a document merely reports that the real document is filed away somewhere.

2. There are a number of ways to get a "certification" document that do not involve actually being born in Hawaii.

3. The investigator uncovered a possible connection between this issue and the charge passport fraud where stolen passport information includes Obama's, which includes birth dates and locations; an officer in that investigation was murdered. This connection is suspected, but not known yet to be fact.

4. Conclusion: There is only one rational reason to hide the actual document, which, unlike the certification, contains a footprint, a doctor's name, the hospital and other real data: it doesn't exist.

This sort of deception, including the documented lies gushing out of the Left, can't be continued forever. The officials in Hawaii will change. At some point, an individual who values truth over Leftist agenda will wind up in charge of the documents, and the truth will emerge.

If the truth is that Obama is president only by fraud, at that point life will be really interesting. Everything Obama has done could be invalidated due to his fraudulent occupation of the office of president. But can it be undone? Can a president Pelosi grant amnesty to Obama and all his Chicago cronies who are now in power, as well as grant validation to his shenanigans? Could a balanced congress undo it all, putting tens of thousands of Obama's new bureaucrats out on the streets? Would military cuts be void? Who would feed the unemployed czars (we already know that they don't pay taxes)? The questions seem limitless... and fun to ask.

"If you want to see the real birth certificate, you are a racist." This is according to an AFP article by Virginie Montet, which quotes the following:

"Despite proof that Obama was born in the US state of Hawaii, including a birth certificate affirming that fact, rumors continue to spread, fueled by a group that critics say includes right-wing militants, racists and Holocaust deniers.

"These are people who are fundamentally either racist or extreme right-wingers. That's where the whole movement is coming from," said Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which studies extremist groups.

The movement is composed of "people who very much do not want Barack Obama to be president, largely because he is black, certainly because he is liberal," he added.

On sites like WorldNetDaily.com, where a petition questioning Obama's place of birth has attracted more than 400,000 electronic "signatories," the so-called Birthers are daily raising "new doubts about the story of Obama's birth."

The article associates "birthers" - as we are now called - with conspiracy freaks:

"In America there is a history of conspiracy thinking that... is part of a tradition of dissent," said Chip Berlet of Political Research Associates, which studies right-wing movements.

Berlet said a small percentage of the population believes the government has been taken over by a "secret elite" that includes "freemasons, the Catholics, Jewish bankers" and others.

And,

"So you have this right-wing social movement, relatively small but angry, and then you have these major public figures, inflaming them with rhetoric and conspiracy allegations on national television," Berlet told AFP.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, there were 926 racist groups in the United States in 2008, compared to 602 in 2000 -- a rise of 54 percent.

"I think that's very significant, and the numbers continue to rise," said Potok. "Very likely the white supremacist world has been energized by the election of a black man into the White House

There you have the primary argument: if you dissent you are a right-wing militant, racist, white supremacist and Holocaust denier... just one jot away from a NAZI!

The Left has nothing left but name-calling (and lying, of course); it is panicking in the face of a potentially devastating up-coming revelation about their Leftist-Deity-In-Chief. Actually the most racist activity this week was by Obama himself, as he knee-jerked racism into a conversation he had no business even addressing. The charge of racism is now the last refuge of Leftist scoundrels who are amongst the last actual bastions of racists themselves.

Now even the uberlib Huffington Post is saying release it:

"So what's the problem here? Release the original and let's be done with this madness.

I realize there are some faith-based Obama supporters who believe without seeing, but the rest of us in the reality-based world are starting to get that strange feeling we got when Mark Sanford tried to convince us that he was away from his family on Father's Day, hiking the Appalachian trail in order to clear his head and write a book.

During the last campaign, John McCain faced similar questions and promptly responded by releasing his original birth certificate. That's how normal people with nothing to hide handle these things."

Dan Rather has asked the Obama administration to save the Main Stream Media. In a speech Tuesday night at the Aspen Institute, and reported by the Aspen Daily News.

Rather is reported to have said,

“A truly free and independent press is the red beating heart of democracy and freedom,” Rather said in an interview yesterday afternoon. “This is not something just for journalists to be concerned about, and the loss of jobs and the loss of newspapers, and the diminution of the American press’ traditional role of being the watchdog on power. This is something every citizen should be concerned about.”

Dan hasn't been a potent force for much of anything since his fraudulent misuse of his position to attack G.W.Bush with phony documents. Rather has always been unmistakeably way left of reason. So he is not able to see that the problem with the MSM is him, and people like him. The MSM is no longer even opaque about their way left opinions that substitute for news. Every anchor gets to slaver about the White House with Obama; they go to the lavish parties thrown at taxpayer expense; they return the favors with soft-ball questions and burying real issues, not to mention publishing distortions that are blatantly obvious to the non-mesmerized.

The intellectual corruption and abandonment of their obligation to objectivity is the self-induced cancer that is killing the MSM. The free market still allows consumers to reject such rancidly foul products, and take their money and attention to other sources. If the government is to protect such enterprises, it will have to force consumers to pay. Giving tax $ to the MSM? Maybe, but more likely a distributed approach, including punitive attacks on alternate news sources, such as those provided by the internet, and an expansion of the new Obama News Distribution Network, allowing news only to favored outlets.

As with all of Obama's approaches, nothing is off the table. Corruption about to surface? Then fire the inspectors. Like so many aspects of the New World of Obama, it is definitely interesting to watch.
