Quick Addendum to the previous post...

It occurs to me that, agreeing that empiricism is not a belief system, it is a process, a discipline, falls short of addressing the full topic. Naturalism and Materialism are the belief systems that associate themselves (parasitically) with empiricism. Disassociating them from empiricism for the purpose of analyzing them for validity is essential.
