Wealth Redistribution Begins

We now know more, a little more anyway, about the Democrats' bailout bill. We couldn't know in advance, of course, because they passed it without anyone in Congress or the media actually reading it first. What did I say about reversing the meanings of words, such as "transparency"?

Two things stick out right now, although I am certain that many more insidious details will come to light with time. First, a large portion medicine for adults has been effectively socialized, with government access to your medical records and government permissions necessary for procedures. This is right on the heels of socializing medicine for children. And second, those folks who bought homes they couldn't afford can now afford them, thanks to the taxpayers who are kicking in the difference.

The government is also handing out cash to everyone with incomes less than $200K, to the tune of roughly $7 or so per week, depending on the source you read. What they don't mention is the bill for $12,000 that they are slipping into your pocket as you reach out for your $7.

The blatant equalization of consequences for those too foolish to comprehend the addition and subtraction required to manage their own finances is a statement for the Leftist need to institutionalize socialist control of the masses. The consequences cannot be allowed to play out naturally, because there are great numbers of responsible people who have responsibly managed their finances, and the consequences would not be equal if the irresponsible had to have bad consequences while the responsible do not. So the responsible are to be rolled in order to equalize the irresponsible.

Certainly there have been shady lenders. They should go to prison. Audits should provide what is needed for that. But it is up to every citizen to show enough responsibility to at least be able to pay the bills. If not, well there are bad consequences. That's why there are auto repo's and mortgage defaults resulting in bankruptcy and bad credit. But not now. Now we must ship our money to the bankrupt so that they can pay for the American Dream that they cannot afford.

As I mentioned long before "the one" became "The Elected One", redistribution of wealth is high on Obama's wish list. And now he is getting his wish.
