Some guy from the BIG BOY investment cesspool, but who is now in government, named Paulson popped up saying we (the Gov.) need to save this AIG insurance company. It’s too big to fail. We don’t need to prop up Fannie Mae or Freddy Mac though.
Two days later, it’s “let’s socialize Fanny and Freddy or it will be disaster. But that’ll do it” (a bargain at $300B) .
Two days later, “I gotta have $700 billion more like quick, no strings; it’ll be a recession otherwise”.
Two days later, “it’ll be a depression! We must save Main Street by taking their money! Quick! Fork it over! Or you’ll all suffer terribly in an indeterminate fashion.”
Meanwhile, McCain suspends the Friday debate. Obama, who declined McCain’s offer of 10 debates, accuses McCain of not being a presidential multitasker. But he goes to DC too.
Meawhile, comedian / late night host David Letterman, who McCain stood up in order to return to DC, has a public hissy fit; this makes all the national news broadcasts, as if it means something.
Meanwhile, Billary continue to quietly subvert Obama at every turn. This time it is Bill, commending McCain’s decision to delay the debate, taking the wind out of Barry Hussein’s sails.
Meanwhile, Barney Frank, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, who didn’t see this crisis coming and doesn’t know why it’s here or where the bailout money is going, claims that it is all under control without McCain being there.
Meanwhile, the FBI is investigating fraud in the BIG BOYS BANKS. This despite the fact the cause is loans that were being made to financially challenged minorities at the behest of the Clinton years Democrats. “Creative” loans to marginal existence minorities in order to extend the “American Dream” to everybody, regardless of their ability (or intent) to repay the loan. A Democrat affirmative action plan for the non-producers. Now the goal is to “keep these Americans in their homes”, despite the homes not being theirs: the homes belong to the banks.
The FBI very predictably will find no laws broken – especially since usury is no longer a crime, it is just doing business – and the real perps will be re-elected to Congress this Fall, and continue to take PAC $ from these very companies.
Meanwhile, the bad debt homes will belong to the government thanks to the taxpayers paying off the lenders, at the urging of the same government that didn’t even see it happening (or did they?). And all this is supported with enthusiasm by Democrats, with the caveat that they get lots more control. The Republicans will cave too, or be seen as causing the depression.
Meanwhile, G W Bush logs in with a similar statement to the Katrina disaster: “I have full confidence in these guys” [who didn’t see this coming and don’t know how to spend the $700 B once they get it].
Meanwhile, internet rumors abound that Biden will plead bad health and give up the VEEP to Hillary. After all, Biden is a verbal hazard to Obama, and he already acknowledged that Hillary would have been a better choice. So that’s an Obama judgment screw-up right?
Meanwhile, Palin is lying low after being allowed to be subjected to media whack-a-mole only twice. Palin was scheduled to speak at a Jewish sponsered event protesting Ahmadinjehad and terrorism, but her speech was cancelled when Democrats threatend the tax-exempt status of the Jewish organization if Palin spoke. Democrats for Ahmadinjehad?? What's next? Try this:
Meanwhile Obama starts his Presidency a little early by opening diplomatic discussions with Iran's "wipe-out-Israel" chief, Ahmadinjehad, who is in New York to taunt the western world.
It’s all pretty funny in a disgusting sort of way.
