The Results of Atheo-Secularism: the Character of the Nation.

The relentless Atheist drive to rid America of its absolutist roots of morality has had an express effect, one that is now measurable. The tiny Atheist minority has succeeded in producing a generation of amoral nihilists. The previous post demonstrates clearly the lengths that organized Atheist activists will traverse in order to eliminate all facets of character education from the American government school system. The persistent attack on religion as the root of all evil, and the deification of science as the bestower of all truth has brought forth a generation infested with materialism and absent of any knowledge of moral absolutes and ethical character traits.

In fact the Barna group recently released the results of a nation-wide poll of young people regarding personal behaviors in the moral and ethical arena. The report states:
“According to George Barna, who directed the survey, the results reflect a significant shift in American life.

‘We are witnessing the development and acceptance of a new moral code in America,’ said the researcher and author, who has been surveying national trends in faith and morality for more than a quarter-century. ‘Mosaics have had little exposure to traditional moral teaching and limited accountability for such behavior. The moral code began to disintegrate when the generation before them - the Baby Busters - pushed the limits that had been challenged by their parents - the Baby Boomers. The result is that without much fanfare or visible leadership, the U.S. has created a moral system based on convenience, feelings, and selfishness.

‘The consistent deterioration of the Bible as the source of moral truth has led to a nation where people have become independent judges of right and wrong, basing their choices on feelings and circumstances. It is not likely that America will return to a more traditional moral code until the nation experiences significant pain from its moral choices.’ ”

The constant assault on the Judeo-Christian values that propelled the positive side of the Enlightenment – as opposed to the Atheist French Revolution / Communist / Fascist side of the Enlightenment – has spawned a youth culture that is unbounded by character features that were considered flaws in past times. A “good” character is no longer a personal goal or asset, and is, by many youth, an unknown virtue. In fact “virtue” itself is an unknown or at least unaccepted concept.

This is a direct result of the forced secularization of society, through the courts and through the media, left unsupervised due to court decisions. The march toward personal nihilism and convenience rather than personal righteous behavior is visible in abortion, sexual profligacy, deterioration of language and courtesy, and the rise of ridicule, slander and personal attack in the stead of rational debate.

Secularization rewards the Atheist relativist, impermanent ethic, the morality of convenience now. It has robbed the youngest, most susceptible adults of the concepts of moral uprightness and steadfastness of moral conviction in the development of personal character. It is an exercise in theft, by the Left.

Without the foundation of moral absolutes, the cultural drift toward total moral anarchy will not be stemmed. And under such conditions, cultures rarely survive.

Atheists do claim to have an evolved morality; that morality encompasses some of the Judeo-Christian ethical standards. But the overall trend toward “choice” of which ethics to reject will result in a system where anything is allowable, so long as an individual is sincere in his actions. In other words, social and legal chaos.

Secularism in societies has led, at best, to socialism where the goods of some are removed and given to others. Secularism at its worst has led to the extermination of hundreds of millions of humans at the convenience of the few in government.

The character of a nation is dependent upon the character of its people, especially those people who rise to power. A nation that denies that character is a virtue will become just such a nation, one without virtue. That is the ultimate end of a secularist-infested culture.
