A former 40 year Atheist analyzes Atheism, without resorting to theism, deism, or fantasy. *** If You Don't Value Truth, Then What DO You Value? *** If we say that the sane can be coaxed and persuaded to rationality, and we say that rationality presupposes logic, then what can we say of those who actively reject logic? *** Atheists have an obligation to give reasons in the form of logic and evidence for rejecting Theist theories.
Yes. Yes, I do. He was an incompetent peanut farmer, but his incompetence limited him.
The one we have now is Ego Unlimited. And he has promised a lifetime supply of free candy canes to all the good little boys and girls and transgenders and illegal immigrants who vote for him and march for him and send him their money.
When they all realize what has been done to the branch upon which we all sit - when these diverse groups wake up one morning with a country's head in the bed next to them, and a bloody saw in their hands - only then will they realize what the rest of us have always known.
That an idle mind is the devil's playground.
That there's no such thing as a free lunch.
That the nice man handing out free lollipops from his van is not necessarily your friend.
That there IS good, and there IS evil, and it's not hard to determine which is which.
That the Golden Rule is called that for a reason.
That you can't cheat an honest man.
And finally that, no matter how hard you squeeze your eyes shut, no matter how many times you click your heels, no matter how long you shout and scream your denial, there is no such thing as magic. And that if there appears to be, it's powered by someone else's dream, the one you stole in the holy name of Equality and Fairness and Rights.
