Roger L. Simon Misses The Point

Roger L. Simon:
"Yes, an open U.S. border is suicidal these days. More than that — it’s nuts! Any president who really cared for the American people would set border security as priority number one.

...

Ours hasn’t, obviously. He has other plans — vote-getting plans, “compassionate” plans. But I wonder if he ever wakes up at night, wondering who’s riding those endless jet skis crossing the Rio Grande. If something really bad is about to happen. If he doesn’t, there’s something really wrong with him.
"
For Obama, the incursion of terrorists accross the "compassionate border" is a second "win"; first, the Dems get the new voters and second, Obama gets to declare martial law. I was dismissive of this for a long time; now it seems entirely possible, especially with having armed virtually all the government agencies with weapons of war.

It is interesting, looking at the lack of leverage that either Congress, the courts, or the American people have on a renegade president. (A novel about this wouldn't be believable). Obama has stripped out many of the officers in the military. Can we presume that to have been politically motivated? I think so. There is no chance of a coup arising out of the military, so the firepower belongs to Obama. Congress and the courts have only paper to fight back with, and there is certainly no respect for that from anywhere on the Left, much less Obama. The remaining firepower resides in the state's National Guards and with the populace.

There is no leverage in reasoning; we have seen the rise in dementia within the Left for several decades. There is no leverage in asserting moral principles; we have seen morality systematically destroyed and replaced with the PC declarations of the Left. And we see that there is little leverage from the supposed "balance of power" between segments of our triune government.

It was never expected that a nation would elect a terrorist, a communist, or a blatant sociopath. When that happened, twice, the only possible outcome is chaos. So the challenge is how to deal with that chaos, or at least how to escape it. Sometimes I wonder if Snowden is not it a safer place than we are, here, in the land of the free, home of the brave.
