I could not restrain myself from responding to the article by C H Blow in the New York Times.

RE: Your article, "The Perfect-Victim Pitfall"

Why is it that successful blacks like yourself do not take the initiative to resolve the black poverty issues that you see as responsible for poor behavior in black populations stuck in ghettos? Why do you scream racism at me, when no one in my family ever owned slaves or discriminated in any manner? Why is it that it is always the amorphous Racism meme that gets blamed, and not the issue of black ghetto culture as deadening to the soul?

Most places in the USA have considerable numbers of blacks who work side by side with whites, enjoy the largesse of success, and do not blame anyone for anything. Yet here we go again with the racism charge, when it clearly is a situation of ghettos generating more ghettos and their cultural mind-sets, repetitively. Your charge boils down to this: rules are different for ghetto blacks; they must not be held accountable under standards to which they don’t subscribe. If they want to use and sell drugs, steal from small businesses, violate state law of any type which they consider constrains or oppresses them, then they must be allowed to do so because it is racist to hold them to those standards.

So when blacks kill other blacks, envelope neighborhoods in drugs and their wars, defy any law which might constrain their actions, the authorities should bind themselves from pursuing those violations in order not to cause excessive black population incarcerations?

Why, then, even have police in those populations that assume anarchy for themselves as a worldview? “We can’t breathe?” Really? Then pull out all policing, and let them be, defiant to the last man, as the turf wars do the policing with drive-by shootings.

Again, why is it that you do not give solutions? Why do you merely emote over the black’s defiance of civilized behavior? Is that not racist?
