The arrogant "Skeptics" movement paralleled the New Atheist movement. One of their famous claims has been their possession of "bullshit detectors". There have even been logic books built around this conceit, and the warp of the concept of "Critical Thinking" has resulted also. But as is shown by the Rolling Stone disaster and writer Sabrina Rubin Erdely, a "bullshit detector" in Leftist parlance means deviation from the Narrative, and NOT deviation from truth or logic.

She wanted the story of a vicious gang rape fraternity initiation to be true; she shopped around until she found someone to give it to her. So she reported it that way. Rolling Stone let her do it.
Erdely's previous expose's are being closely scrutinized for similar prejudices, according to previous reports. I hope that is the case.
