A former 40 year Atheist analyzes Atheism, without resorting to theism, deism, or fantasy. *** If You Don't Value Truth, Then What DO You Value? *** If we say that the sane can be coaxed and persuaded to rationality, and we say that rationality presupposes logic, then what can we say of those who actively reject logic? *** Atheists have an obligation to give reasons in the form of logic and evidence for rejecting Theist theories.

For Those of You Who Forgot My Christmas Present...
Ah, and this one (Salon's got so much comic material):
“There aren’t a lot of you out there”: What? Let’s fix our female Asian-American writer blind spot now"
I love the inherent contradiction: apparently, the right way to build a race-blind society is by NOT being race bind.
"Many universities and events deliberately try to select diverse speakers, and I think it’s a fine way to expose audiences to writers of different backgrounds. But I was startled to hear there weren’t many Asian American women fiction writers."
And by hyphenating ad nauseum: not just ASIAN writers, but ASIAN-AMERICAN-FEMALE-FICTION writers.
"The anvil wears the hammers out, ye know.” And so, thought I, the anvil of God’s Word, For ages skeptic blows have beat upon; Yet though the noise of falling blows was heard The anvil is unharmed...the hammers gone."

That's beautiful. I absolutely love that spray stencil look of the Good Year writing on those fat, aggressive looking booties.
I wouldn't be able to afford the rear view mirror on one of those things. Nice, though!
BTW, have you seen this, from Salon? "God is on the ropes: The brilliant new science that has creationists and the Christian right terrified"
Yet another crackpot theory that's supposed to spell the death of God.

Stefani,
Always remember the words of John Clifford:
"The anvil wears the hammers out, ye know.”
And so, thought I, the anvil of God’s Word,
For ages skeptic blows have beat upon;
Yet though the noise of falling blows was heard
The anvil is unharmed...the hammers gone."
