Quote of the Day

The Economist Magazine is for sale; Theodore Dalrymple concludes:
"Nevertheless, it managed to convey the impression that the disparities, insofar as they acknowledged them at all, were the fault of the events rather than of The Economist, and that the world had a duty to be as The Economist said it was and as it would be."
This marvelous sentence can be applied to several similar enterprises:
"Nevertheless, it managed to convey the impression that the disparities, insofar as they acknowledged them at all, were the fault of the events rather than of the climate algorithms, and that the world had a duty to be as the climate algorithms said it was and as it would be."
And,
Nevertheless, it managed to convey the impression that the disparities, insofar as they acknowledged them at all, were the fault of the events rather than of the Leftist blue model, and that the world had a duty to be as the Leftist blue model said it was and as it would be.
