This power grab is likely a response to the reports of Gays bolting the Dems for the protection of Trump. Hammering on guns is the only counter that the Left will entertain - certainly not any interference into domestic Islam. It appears that Gays now know this.
Just days after the massacre in an Orlando nightclub left 49 people dead and 53 wounded, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson on Tuesday said that gun control is now a critical element of protecting the U.S. homeland and keeping Americans safe.
"We have to face the fact that meaningful gun control has to be a part of homeland security," Johnson said in an interview on "CBS This Morning." "We need to do something to minimize the opportunity for terrorists to get a gun in this country."
And Rolling Stone's putative Constitutional Professor, David Cohen, demands the repeal of the Second Amendment. Of course he does, he is Left of Bernie, it appears.
The Left is gutting the First Amendment, both clauses. The Second Amendment is the only recourse in the constitution which protects all the other declared rights. The Left hates rights for commoners, and doesn't need any rights for itself since the Left recognizes no limits on itself. No limits = universal options for war on the population. Remember: "Never waste a crisis!" Alinsky would be So proud.

What, specifically, do you suggest in terms of interference into domestic Islam?
It seems obvious that in a war, including a war of defense, one should have full surveillance of both the known enemy and potential enemies. Domestic enemies, when found, should be charged with seditious speech, plots, incitement to harm, intent to harm, illegal weapons or whatever crimes of which they are guilty.
This is an interference in the privacy of Islamics, their mosques, their associations both on-line and in person.
Free exercise of Islam is not the same as free exercise of a religion, because Islam is a political entity (totalitarian) as well as a religion, with the political entity in control of the religious.
Seditious politics and an overall worldview of harm to non-members of a specific Class designation are not protected. The Qur'an promotes such harm as a dictate from Allah. Qur'anic Islam is therefore a threat to western society, with a number of factions involved in actual warfare.
The threat to LGBT/women/non-believers/heretical domestic Muslims is obvious.
Another clueless idiot: so how did that "critical element" work out for those killed and injured by the hireling of the DHS? I'm sure that he was vetted just as thoroughly as those undocumented and undocumentable "Syrian migrants" whom Obama and Shrillary want to import in massive numbers will be - NOT AT ALL because - Protected Victim Class status!
