Antifa attacks reporters, so the media fears... Trump. Of course they don't really fear Trump, it's just another hate attack on the POTUS who they hate, hate, hate.
Media fear Trump will inspire violence against reporters
It's not possible to be more childish than MSM commentators.
Many in the national media are worried that President Trump's continued broadsides against the press will inspire violence against reporters, even as vocal opponents of the White House on the Left have encouraged assault or directly attacked some journalists.
Not to mention the Leftist and media wishes for Trump's harm.
On Trump's rhetoric, New York Times media columnist Jim Rutenberg asked Wednesday night, "How long before someone is seriously hurt, or worse?"
Jim VandeHei, founder of the news website Axios, told Rutenberg for his column that Trump is directly "putting reporters at real risk of retribution or violence."
Trump has long complained about the media's coverage of him as being "unfair" and "fake" but he turned up his aggression during a campaign-style rally Tuesday in Phoenix. There, he vented about the press being "divisive" following the violence in Charlottesville, Va.
"I really think they don't like our country," Trump said of reporters. "I really believe that." He called them "sick people" for not giving him sufficient credit in his denunciation of white supremacists.
Jeffrey Toobin, a writer for the New Yorker and a CNN commentator, said those comments are likely to inspire the president's supporters to act out physically.
"Someone is going to do something awful to a journalist," he said on air Wednesday. "I feel for our colleagues who are sitting there as people yell and boo and chant ‘CNN sucks.'"
Thursday in the New York Times, columnist Nicholas Kristoff wrote, "When Trump galvanizes crowds against reporters in the room, I worry that we may lose journalists in the line of duty not only in places like Syria but also right here at home. Trump will get people hurt."
To date, more than two years after he launched his campaign and seven months after his inauguration, there is no clear evidence linking Trump's rhetoric to any violence against reporters.
There has been some violence against reporters. In March, people who work for a local California news agency said they were assaulted at a Trump rally by his supporters, according to the Los Angeles Times. But the report said that among the four people arrested at the incident, all were counter-protesters, and made no mention of them being inspired by Trump.
At the same time, there have been some recent incidents of some on the Left assaulting journalists.
After the riot in Charlottesville, nearly two weeks ago, some reporters on the scene said on social media that they had been attacked by people counter protesting the white supremacy rally.
Among those in the media who said they had been assaulted were Taylor Lorenz of The Hill, who posted a video on Facebook that cuts off after she is heard screaming and a man's voice yells at her to "Stop fucking recording." She claimed she had been punched in the face and that her phone was kicked away.
The photographer for a CBS affiliate in Richmond was also allegedly attacked by the Left and had to get stitches while recording one of the counter protests, according to the station.
Just after the election last year, a woman protesting Trump's win told CNN, "There will be casualties on both sides. There will be, because people have to die to make a change in this world."
None of that matters because they follow the Leftist Narrative that the Oppressor Class deserve it. And anyone who gets in their way. Even
other Antifa.

"The LA Times reports that thousands of counter-protesters took to the streets of Berkeley today where they clashed with a handful of Trump supporters, leading to violent clashes and at least 14 arrests.
According to the LA Times, some anti-facist protesters, known as antifa, pounced when Joey Gibson, founder of the right-wing group Patriot Prayer, showed up with his crew. They beat one man with a shield and another person wearing an American flag. Some antifa protesters also threatened to break the cameras of anyone who filmed them, including journalists. One reporter tweeted that he had been pepper sprayed in one scuffle.
According to the Washington Post, black-clad anarchists attacked at least five people. More than 100 hooded protesters, with shields emblazoned with the words “no hate” and waving a flag identifying themselves as anarchists, busted through police lines.
If these reports are correct, the antifa and black bloc anarchists have given Trump supporters exactly what they wanted in coming to Berkeley: footage of violence perpetrated against them.
How stupid can they get?
No one cannot expect to reduce hate with more hate, or contain violence with more violence.

Post Script: this turned into a rant, sorry. But I'm keeping it.
From an historical perspective, civilizations which choose to tolerate barbarism on their own citizens do not survive the barbarism, and become controlled by it. Barbarism is the default mode of humanity at the animal level, the null hypothesis. Rule of law, not men, is an aberration stemming from a general cultural belief-set and worldview which allows it. When King John signed the Magna Carta, the process of civilized law became documented. That didn't happen in a vacuum; Christianity and Greco-Roman precedent preceded it.
The Left has an objective: equalitarian utopia controlled top-down by the Left. Everything they do/say is toward that end. So what they say/do generally consists of deceptions (lies, false flags) to gain a step toward demolishing impediments to their objective.
The western civilization is an impediment to equalitarian utopia. So it must be destroyed (Cloward/Piven).
What the Left does is always destructive. Reduce the birth rate? Abortion. Reduce the civil population? Illegal, uncontrolled immigration. Civilized Rallies? Black-hooded barbarians beat the attendees. Information Flow? Lie constantly and proselytize inverted morals. Young open minds? Control all education and media. Rule of law? Make law which destroys the common ethic, making anarchy equal to "tolerance" and dissent into criminal behavior. Social cohesion? Marxist identarian Class war.
With Hillary as Queen, the Left thought that their utopian objective had come to fruition. Their timing was premature, and their control of information flow was faulty (free internet). The votes of Illegal Aliens did not materialize sufficiently. Cis-civil Americans leveraged a barrier, in the form of Trump.
So the barbarians rage, not against "fascists" but against the cis-civil population which is not yet defeated.
Everything the Left does is a lie; anti-fascists are fascist/communist totalitarians. Hillary was not a "savior", she is a totalitarian with no shred of a conscience... but with a serious body count. The DNC "process" was mere collusion, including with the Russians. Seth Rich was a hero, and was assassinated just like many of the anti-Clinton foes. Leftist pay-for-play is just the same as the Mafia uses, only on a world-wide basis.
Further history from WWII: without counter-violence neither the Japanese nor the Axis would have stopped. Love means nothing to totalitarians - who love their children and dogs, and fear everyone else, even their "friends". Nietzschean Will to Power consumes and replaces ethics/morality with constant violence wherein the totalitarian must kill friends, family and lovers in order to preserve power and for control to survive.
Violence for survival against barbarism is not immoral. Barbarism is immoral.
