Enabling Serial Sexual Perversions: The Massive Hypocrisy of Saturday Night Live

For the Left there is no hypocrisy, because there is no moral grounding. If there is no right, then there is no wrong, either.
Nolte – Alec Baldwin and Louis C.K.: ‘Saturday Night Live’ Is Part of the Problem

On May 15, 2015, Gawker published a story detailing comedian Louis C.K.’s sexual misconduct toward women. On May 16, 2015, Louis C.K. was allowed to host Saturday Night Live. In June of 2016, comedian and television icon Roseanne Barr called out Louis C.K. over his sexual misconduct. In April of 2017, Louis C.K. was again allowed to host Saturday Night Live.

The rumors about C.K. masturbating in front of women without their consent, rumors that were confirmed last week by Louis C.K. himself, have been talked about in comedy circles for nearly a decade. Moreover, there was a culture within these circles where the women feared being blacklisted if they spoke up.

Nevertheless, while Saturday Night Live lectured America about the war on women and President Trump’s “disqualifying” locker room talk, they welcomed C.K. as a guest host, which enabled his behavior by enhancing his power and reputation.

In May of 2007, Alec Baldwin attacked his own 11 year-old daughter as a “pig.”

In December of 2011, Baldwin lashed out at a female airline staffer and was escorted off the plane.

In April of 2012, Baldwin declared a female journalist a “nutty bitch.”

Baldwin’s ex-wife Kim Basinger claims Baldwin was verbally abusive toward her.

In just the last few weeks, Baldwin has admitted to being a sexist bully, admitted he heard rumors about Rose McGowan’s alleged rape at the hands of Harvey Weinstein, and then victim-blamed McGowan for taking a settlement.

Despite all of this, not to mention countless instances of the very worst kind of homophobia, Alec Baldwin is currently the biggest star on Saturday Night Live.

This past weekend, though, this very same Saturday Night Live, the powerful enabler of a serial-exhibitionist masturbator and a homophobic, sexist bully, mocked the people of Alabama with bigoted stereotypes over the Judge Roy Moore scandal.

Saturday Night Live has not only ceded all of its moral authority on the issue of sexual misconduct, the left-wing show continues to be part of the problem, a firmly entrenched institution within Harveywood willing to ignore indefensible behavior for money, ratings, and partisan point-scoring.

I will not defend Louis CK, bu there are 2 main problems here:
1) Comparing him to Trump implies that going on SNL is more or less as serious as being POTUS. Seriously?? Shouldn't the standards be much higher?

2) It's not just the locker room talk that the Donald did wrong. Are you kidding... he literally gropped womem by the pussy! Who said that? Himself! And he was accused of such things, and he also admitted to just walk around changing rooms of beauty pagents, etc, etc etc... mostly stuff he said himself! Yet, the Right wanted him for president, even the religious Right. FFS.

Trump was not hired as a national moral icon, nor is he held as such. He was hired because he has what none of the other candidates had: independence from the moneybags who control by virtue of their vast contributions; his distaste for the Left and its attack on the US via "Progressivism"; Brass Balls; Twitter, not filter. Those were his assets.

His purpose was and is to destroy the Leftist occupation of the USA, but Hillary did that. Also to rid the Republican Party of its Leftists, which is working well. Also to place in the court system those who believe in law and Constitution, which is working well. Also to rid the shadow government in the Executive Branch, which might not be working well, not sure. Also to regain respect for the USA in foreign relations, which is working well.

He was the last choice before Hillary finished the corruption of the entire government of the USA.

As for sexual violations, where are the women accusing Trump? They are standing in line to out the Leftists. None to accuse Trump? Where are they? "he literally gropped womem by the pussy!" Literally? Where are those women? Really. Where are they? Weird Uncle Joe has been groping women for decades, photographed doing so, and he's running for POTUS.

The economy is back and booming, industry moving back into the USA, the totalitarians are on the run, blithering spittle as they flee. What's not to like?

I dunno about Baldwin. He's an arrogant jerk at times, somewhat corrupted by power, and I don't like the hypocrisy of his public vs. private behavior. But it seems to me folks are blowing some of his words and actions a bit out of proportion.

I have referred to certain women as 'bitches'. They were. I have referred to my own 12-year-old son as a 'pig'. He was. Those were not nice things to say. But as ICP would say, so fucking what?!

Baldwin has enough unpleasant features to condemn, always supposing such a thing is necessary. Let's not add 'he was a mean, mean bully' to that list, because all *that* accomplishes is to make his detractors sound like a bunch of butthurt ninnies.

Trump bragged about his assaults, are you denying that?

Stan said...

Nope. Trump did do some bragging *as if* he did such things. But without specifics, to my knowledge. Braggadocio is not the same as actual assault. The claim was that Trump "literally" assaulted women. Did he? Where are the women he assaulted? Does Trump ever say stupid things? Of course.

Speaking of women, I'm guessing that a full third of the current accusations are false. Many of the men have admitted to the assaults; some have denied it. There is a human tendency to jump on the bandwagon to get one's 15 minutes of fame. False accusations and false confessions are fairly common amongst the mentally unstable, a condition which includes much of Hollywood and the MSM.

Wow, you're delusional. Trump literally bragged about grabbing women by the pussy, kissing them, lunging, etc... he can just do it because he's famous. He walked in on women getting dressed, he said he did, they said he did. Here's just one source, just one, but you'll keep denying because he's on your side... or else you would say 1/3 of the accusations are false leaving 2/3 true. But it's Trump, your champion, so 3/3 must be false.

“Saturday Night Live has not only ceded all of its moral authority”

It’s a *comedy show*, FPS. When did it ever *have* any “moral authority“? If America ever starts looking to a bunch of stand up comedians for its moral compass, we’ll end up looking like, well—

Leftists.

Sorry sir but that kind of gross generalization tells a lot more about your own mental stability than anyone else's.

@Mark: "Wow, you're delusional."

Man, you just lost all credibility with me. You just had to lead off with an insult, didn't you? That's the weapon of first resort for an emotionally-driven Leftist.

Damn, dude. Don't you have better things to do than fling poop on the internet?

Steven Satak said...

@Jonathan: point taken. I have never looked at SNL as some kind of moral authority, but it IS the place where the Leftists converge to virtue-signal. It has two advantages they love: it costs them nothing and it reaches a sizeable audience.

Kinda like the internet.

Steven Satak said...

@Carl: describing Hollywood and the Left that way is indeed insulting, even if it is true.

They are spiritually corrupt, and it evidences itself through behavior that is very like that of genuinely insane people.

I think Stan can be forgiven for the confusion. And no, not all of them are acting bonkers. But enough of them are doing it that we who used to watch the Oscars without wincing can be pardoned if we think they've all come down with some sort of debilitating virus.

Mark:
I'll be posting an analysis of the charges being made against Trump, today or tomorrow.

Jonathan Skyes:
Big Bang Theory is a comedy show; SNL is nasty satire and preaching to the choir of Leftists who think nasty satire is funny and the preaching makes them feel morally superior.

CarlS:
Read it more closely. It's not a generalization, of course. Try again.

Sofia:
What "everybody" agrees to has no bearing on reality, especially in an era of heavy corruption at the fundamental population level, which tried to elect the most corrupt woman in the country just because she's reputedly identifying as female and "it's her turn".

Why are you still talking about Hillary? She lost over a year ago now!! Your POTUS is a failure. That's what matters right now. He did nothing. Prove otherwise! And leave the stock market aside, will you. This has nothing (or little) to do with him, just like it had nothing to do with Obama.

Stan said...

Har! Sofia, you're a hoot. The stock Market had everything to do with Obama and his Leftist culture-destroyers. And now it has everything to do with Trump. I've mentioned a few things Trump has done, starting with day 1. Your claim is just flat ignorant.

I realize that you are just a troll. But you sure are a funny, ignorant one.

Yep, just teolling you, as udual. Yet you keep posting comments. What's the point of your filtering system then? Make sure your ego is not damaged when your lies and ignorance are exposed you moron? How stupid can you be? Told you before... nobody reads your blog nor comment here, except for less than 5 people perhaps, who do comment once in a while...
