The State of Debate in the USA
The 2014 Cross Examination Debate Association's national championship was held at Indiana University. The all African American female team from Towson University defeated the all African American male team from the University of Oklahoma.
To be fair, they were trained in the 'debate style' that's become commonplace in the past decade or so; white, black or whatever, this is how 'debate' is conducted at these places.
It's not about rational debate, it's about swaying the judge's feelings.
Yeah, I got a little dizzy there for a second, too. Suffice to say I pay no attention to this shit. It's circle-jerking for the affluent student.
