My wife and I are also moving down to… am I allowed to say? I don’t know. It’s south, too south for comfort. South enough that the place is known for civil rights protests. The kind of place where, when a lady walks by, men tip their hat and stop kicking the negro curled in the fetal position at their feet. It’s a more polite place (until they find out my wife is Jewish).
Ginx, here's something to think about. The civil rights protests in those days were against Democrats, who were - back then - inveterate and violent racists, the protests were led by Dr Martin Luther King. The civil rights these days are against abortions and abortion mills (indirectly against Democrats, then) which violently rip infants' living brains from their skulls with scissors as a leftist derived "Right" of motherhood, and these protests are headed up by Martin Luther King's daughter, Dr Alveda King.
The "negro" in the fetal position you refer to is now the preborn infant.

I've never voted for a Democrat...
Also, you can try playing that "abortion is racist" card all you want, but you can't convince me women should not have sovereignty over they body. Planned Parenthood was started by a racist eugenecist, but by that logic no one should drive VW's.
I seriously lol'd at my error, which was not meant to lend a black flavor to the sentence where I use "they" instead of "their." Freudian slip?
Seriously Ginx, do all blacks flavor their speech with such illiteracies? Your second message was more revealing than the first.
Body sovereignty. But it is not the woman's body being cut apart and killed, is it? It could be a baby girl who is denied her own body sovereignty. Moreover, abortion is commonly caused by the father of the child who forces the woman or girl to do it. Body sovereignty, or bloody birth control? It's a human death for convenience' sake, pure and simple. A remorseless taking of life.
And as far Left as your opinions are, I doubt that you have voted for any Republicans or Libertarians, either. Maybe you vote Consequentialtarian? Or not at all?
I guess that's enough of that. When you have a real argument in mind, come on back.
Asnwer me this: is it murder to remove someone from your home who is there uninvited, who is eating your food, and who may in fact kill you?
[Original reply deleted because you don't deserve to be insulted after leaving up my comment. Lesser people have deleted them, so the least I can do is give you respect for not doing so.]
I think I have a better question that is more analagous to the issue of abortion: is it murder to kill the person if they were placed there against their will? Keep in mind that you know they are there unwillingly and they cannot leave.
And they are half related to you.
And more than likely you invited them in, and then are incensed that they actually are there.
BTW, the idea that an embryo will kill the mother is a real stretch for justifying 500,000,000 abortions over the past 40 years.
All analogies fall apart at some point. Analogies are the weakest of arguments, because they do not address the actual issue. In this case the actual issue is thrusting scissors into the brain of an infant that did nothing wrong, had no choice in its existence, and if it is considered to be a consequence, then it is a consequence of a decision of the mother to have sex.
Let's consider rape. Here is a true dilemma, not hypothetical. The woman can choose between two terrible choices: to die fighting for the sovereignty of her body, or to make the baby die for the sovereignty of her body; one choice is valorous, one is cowardly.
But far more likely is that the woman doesn't consider her body sovereign until she is inconvenienced by pregnancy. The leftist state does not consider a woman's body sovereign: it demands that injections of many types be administered for the good of mankind in general, not for the specific female involved.
And again, it has been shown that a high percentage of abortions are being driven by the father of the child - a boyfriend who will leave if the pregnancy continues, or an angry husband, etc. Where is the woman's sovereignty in these cases?
It has also been shown that women tend not to abort if they are shown ultrasounds of their child. This requirement was just added here in my state, and was fought tooth and nail by the abortion industry (Planned Parenthood). Abortion is just like any other huge corporate enterprise, this one with substantial taxpayer support.
