A former 40 year Atheist analyzes Atheism, without resorting to theism, deism, or fantasy. *** If You Don't Value Truth, Then What DO You Value? *** If we say that the sane can be coaxed and persuaded to rationality, and we say that rationality presupposes logic, then what can we say of those who actively reject logic? *** Atheists have an obligation to give reasons in the form of logic and evidence for rejecting Theist theories.

Sparse Posting Ahead...
I'll be offline for maybe 10 days while we take a vacation in the Smoky Mountains and the adjacent regions. But I'll be back. If I find a feral computer somewhere, I might even log in for a minute or two while we're out and about.
The Smokys were gorgeous, and Gatlinburg was hard to believe... I expected a rustic mountain town, and got tourist-trap on steroids...
Chris, hope you get through the troubles OK. Most folks around here got generators during the ice storm of '07. We already had one, and got another one to run the well. Last year I put in a DPDT switch so I can fire up the generator, throw the switch to take us off grid, and run the household off the generator (not the furnace tho). Haven't had to use it yet, except to test it.
Generators are generally cheaper after the storm...

Have a good time!
But I'd watch out for feral computers, they might look cute, but you just don't know where they've been!
Love the smoky mountains... Hope Irene does not cross your path.
Irene knocked me out of commission on
Saturday. I got back internet this evening. But I still don't have power- ugh!
I must say, being in the generator business these days would be most lucrative in these parts

Stan,
Hope you're having a good vacay.
I expect your powers of argumentation to be at full tilt when you return.
