Valerie Tarico Attempts to Warp the Abortion Issue

Tarico compares abortion to spontaneous death of fertilized eggs, claiming that the spontaneous failure of many fertilized eggs to attach to the uterus proves that abortion is not the major cause of embryonic death. Thus it is that anti-abortionists should be morally concerned more about the moral issue of the natural deaths of those embryos than the killing of normally developing embryos in the mother's womb. The obvious discrepancy in the attitudes of the anti-killing crowd somehow shows an irrationality, in Tarico's estimation, or at least a potentially exploitable hypocrisy.
"The fact that fertilized egg death is so common means that all birth control methods available today reduce the rate of embryonic hari-kari, and the more effective the contraceptive the more this is true. Top tier contraceptives, including the IUDs so hated by the Hobby Lobbyists, prevent more egg death daily than every pro-life picketer in America combined. And that's not even counting how much therapeutic abortion decreases when women have access to better birth control."
So this psychologist "reasons" that preventing embryos reduces the natural death of embryos; for some reason that is more moral in her book, or should be at least for the Other. But if preventing the death of fertilized eggs is suddenly moral for the Left, then Plan B is immoral as well as is murdering fertilized eggs at all regardless of the stage of development.

That's not her point though. It's not that she, herself, believes that fertilized egg death is any sort of an issue. She is attempting to use Reductio to prove that it is actually not important to anyone, ever. Thus, if it's not important, then by considerable convoluted extension, no embryonic death is actually important. It's an argument to support, however obliquely, the human killing of other humans from fertilized egg through whatever age they care to designate, if any. Because fertilized egg death is not important.

(Gotta love the term "therapeutic abortion", though - very creative twisting on "killing half the people who enter the abbatoir")

The fact is that Plan B kills fertilized eggs that might have attached, developed, and become children, teenagers and adults. It is human induced killing of innocents. The issue is specifically the presumptive right to actively kill normally developing humans. She does not in any manner address this as she tries to obscure the issue with faux moral principles and false equivalencies.

The further issue of the hatred for Hobby Lobby stems not from any moral issue or ethical base; it stems from hatred of the inability she has to force Hobby Lobby to pay. It's as simple as that. The Left is incensed at the restrictions on their hegemony into the lives and jobs of their opponents. They MUST be allowed to interfere in Hobby Lobby's business. They MUST be allowed to dictate what Hobby Lobby will pay for beyond wages for labor. The issue is purely what they can force their enemies to do. They are totalitarian to the end, and they are morally authorized by themselves to be totalitarian.

It's that simple.

Visual images:

"embryonic hari-kari" - the fertilized egg whips out its wakazushi, slices open its own belly, then the assistant (abortionist) standing by cuts off its head?

"therapeutic abortion" - a psychologist talking the fertilized egg to death while it reclines (sans uterus) on the shrink's couch?

PhD (Piled Higher and Deeper) stupidity larded upon stupidity. . .

So I pushed my husband. So what? You know how many people die from accidental falls every year? This is just the same.

I am pro sex ed., pro birth control, pro keeping abortion legal (and regulated for safety).

The world already has over seven billion people and we have left our trash everywhere. The Bible says that God's first command to living things was to be fruitful and multiply. Apparently every organism from bacteria to human beings already does that without any prompting needed. It would have made more sense to add a revelation warning us not to be too fruitful. I guess humanity is going to keep doing just what bacteria do, multiplying without taking any responsibility for our own numbers until the planet we live on is dead, like bacteria covering an orange and then dying in their own excrement and decaying cousins.

The Bible also say that humans were granted dominion/rule over living things. But humans would be better off simply leaving huge swaths of nature with its living things alone. Why? Because humanity relies on nature more than nature relies on humanity. So it would have made more sense if God added that we shouldn't try to take total dominion, we need to keep our hands off wetlands and other huge swaths of nature where animals and plants flourish that help store and recycle carbon and keep the planet clean and healthy. We need to relinquish dominion over huge swaths of the earth and leave nature to nature. We never were warned about that by God. Instead we learned about that from modern day ecological science.

Edward T. Babinski,
You have defined your perception of evil, thus:
” The world already has over seven billion people and we have left our trash everywhere”

So you believe that there are two overarching problems: (1) excesses of humans; (2) trash. These are Oppressors of “the world”: mother Earth, Gaia, who is the Victimhood Class. You are in pursuit of a messianic objective, to save the designated victim, Gaia, from the oppressors, humans and their trash.

We can jump to your consequentialist, if unstated, solutions: by whatever means necessary, get rid of a certain percentage of humans. You don’t give a desired number of humans which should be allowed, but it must be considerably less than the stated “seven billion”. Maybe four billion? Two billion? What number have you derived for us and our progeny?

Let me guess: you are also for euthanasia and other pragmatic solutions to your concern for the victim of humanity: planet earth, dying Gaia. That would be “responsible”, according to your personal derivation of what is moral for humans to do. But for people to keep their pants zipped up and not to have sex on every date and to guide their own lives by the family they create, that is out of the question, right? Just a guess, because usually Messiahs want to create and save all sorts of derived, designated Victimhood Classes, and sexual privacy/profligacy is one of those..

I don’t read personal responsibility into your complaint; I read post-hoc reaction for the most part: killing the human individuals before they can multiply. I read a necessity for worldwide, top-down solutions, such as “education” (a euphemism for propagandizing); birth control (what, in the water?); and of course, killing (China does such a good job of selective in-utero killing of families progeny).

It’s interesting that you consider “humanity” to be on the same plane as bacteria. Except presumably yourself, and other Messiahs like yourself who campaign against the hordes of bacterial humans. The only Messianic solutions you have not provided are the drastic eliminationist methods which you obviously believe are required in order to save your Victimhood Class from the bacterial Oppressor Class.

So perhaps you would share those eliminationist processes with us. Do they involve gas chambers, perchance?

(continued from above)
As for "ecological science", this nation was fully conservationist long before the first "ecological scientist" was a gleam in his father's eye. Thinking otherwise indicates historical ignorance, probably due to top-down government schooled purposeful ignorance installation.

The National Park and National Monument systems were established back when this was a Christian nation, and so were the river clean ups, the Great Lakes detoxified, and on and on. Ecological Science had nothing to do with those efforts, because it did not exist when they were started.

At any rate, we await your solutions as requested above.
Over and out.
