Canada Demanding U.S. End 'Right to Work' Laws as Part of NAFTA Renegotiation

Canada is demanding goodies from the United States Congress as part of the renegotiation of NAFTA.

One group of negotiators spent all day Sunday working on the labour file, according to a schedule of the talks obtained by The Globe and Mail. One source familiar with the discussions said Canada wants the United States to pass a federal law stopping state governments from enacting right-to-work legislation; the source said the United States has not agreed to such a request. Canada believes that lower labour standards in the United States and Mexico, including right to work, give those countries an unfair advantage in attracting jobs.

I love Canada, I really do. But not Canadian Leftism, which, for example, preferences Islam over Free Speech and other Leftist atrocities. So I favor jettisoning the NAFTA abomination, and going our own way, with our own laws, which Canada is NOT free to dictate.

On Friday, an anti-Islam protest took place outside a mosque in Toronto.

Global News published this report, but did not interview protesters, show any video of it or even clear pictures.

A small group of protesters demonstrated outside of a mosque in downtown Toronto Friday with signs, banners and megaphones calling for the banning of Islam while people prayed inside.

Toronto Police Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook said protesters gathered outside the Masjid Toronto, a mosque near Dundas Street West and Chestnut Street, for an “anti-Islamic protest” with signs just after noon.

CBC reports that this protest will now be investigated as a hate crime.

What neither the media nor the police seem concerned about, however, are calls by the mosque's Muslim imam and congregants to exterminate the Jewish people one by one, and vanquish all non-Muslims.

A call to genocide is a criminal code offence in Canada.

Therefore, Canada is "Post-National".

"The consensus from Canada’s elites has been to condemn the very idea of listing our values, let alone asking newcomers to respect and adhere to them.

But a far more controversial idea about Canadian values and identity was recently proposed by our very own prime minister. And the media barely batted an eyelash.

Late last year, Justin Trudeau told the New York Times that Canada is becoming a new kind of country, not defined by our history or European national origins, but by a “pan-cultural heritage”.

The lure of One-World Government (no national boundaries), under total Leftist control of course, is seductive. Because: Love, doncha know. Make everybody LOVE everybody else, and presto: utopia.

Instead, he suggests Canada is nothing but an intellectual construct and a hodgepodge of various people, from various backgrounds, who just happen to live side by side in the territory known as Canada.

Trudeau seems embarrassed, even ashamed of our Western culture and values.

Far from standing up for Canada and promoting our core principles at home and abroad, Trudeau frequently apologizes for Canada.

That’s why he feels no shame in speaking at a segregated mosque, where women and girls are forbidden from entering through the front door, or sitting in the main hall.

He can call himself a “feminist” while also tolerating the subjugation and segregation of women, when it suits his political interests.

That is also why, while in China, Trudeau told the one-party authoritarian state that Canada, too, is imperfect when it comes to human rights.

Trudeau blurred the distinction between Canada’s peaceful, free society and that of a communist dictatorship.

He equated Canada — a democratic country that always strives for peace, justice, liberty and equality — to a closed regime with a sordid history."

Trudeau is Canada's version of Obama, only stupider... if that's even possible.

Trudeau walks over, reaches for the blocked member, and when the member comes forward Trudeau's elbow bends, "striking" the female blocker at the side, in the chest. It was unintentional.

But the legislators went ape.

I don't like Trudeau. I don't like his party. I don't understand Canadian legal protocol. But Trudeau didn't do anything untoward, from a civil behavior standpoint. The reaction was and still is pure blind political idiocy.

We’re already feeling pressure to back off from 24 Sussex,” a reference to the prime minister’s Ottawa residence.

Although CSIS only months ago expressed public concerns about a “sharp increase” in the number of Canadians going abroad to wage jihad, that seems to have changed now that Mr. Trudeau is in charge. Only weeks after the Liberals took over, accusations have appeared that CSIS is low-balling the numbers of jihadists in the country to make the new government look good."

Leftism is a corrosive force. It corrodes common sense with the use of idyllic utopian ideology which, even on its face, is anti-rational. It allows holding the door open to closed ideologies which are antithetical to western liberties and which have no interest in preserving western thought processes. And the Left fully agrees with that meta-narrative.
