A senior vice president at Google is promising to act against employees who raise their voices against the company’s alleged pattern of misconduct against its conservative personnel.

Google VP Urs Hölzle’s threat follows a recent article on Wired that interviewed Google employees who have been accused in the James Damore lawsuit of discriminating against Caucasian men, who were instead painted as the victims of harassment by the publication—and their whistleblowers as aggressors.

Breitbart reports that in the months following the termination of Google engineer James Damore over a leaked memo that criticized the company’s “diversity” efforts, numerous employees at the company have blown the whistle on the company’s internal goings-on with allegations of threats of violence, harassment, abuse of HR, intimidation, and labor violations.

Following the publication of the Wired story, that piece was reportedly circulated within the company by progressive activists, in an alleged attempt to intimidate their conservative peers from speaking to the press.

A lawsuit alleges that Google discriminated against conservatives. It won't end well for Google.

Google, for its part, says that it is eager to defend the lawsuit. But lawyers always announce that they have a sterling case that is certain to prevail, even if they know they are doomed. And unless they can present strong evidence that there were legions of conservatives happily frolicking away on their internal message boards while enjoying the esteem of their colleagues and the adulation of their managers, there is no way that this suit ends well for Google. If the company and its lawyers think otherwise, they are guilty of a sin known to the media as “reading your own press releases,” and to drug policy experts as being “high on your own supply.”

There are expensive, time-consuming, exasperating lawsuits, and then there are radioactive lawsuits that poison everyone who comes within a mile of them. And this lawsuit almost certainly falls into the latter category.

David Brooks is right. In the wake of his atrocious mishandling of the James Damore matter, Google CEO Sundar Pichai must go. Damore authored a moderate proposal, stressing that he supported diversity and thought that people should be treated as individuals, while offering some suggestions as to why Google’s efforts to recruit more women techies had failed. Various people (most of whom, as The Atlantic’s Conor Friedersdorf noted, seem not to have read Damore’s actual memo, but rather to have been responding to an imaginary document instead) demanded that Damore be fired. CEO Sundar Pichai complied and gave Damore the boot. For this egregious piece of mob-induced misjudgment, Pichai must go. But that’s the least of the problems for Google, and Silicon Valley.

The Damore firing, and Pichai’s disgraceful handling of it, represents colossal damage to Google’s brand. In essence, it’s an announcement — by a company that has access to everyone’s data — that it endorses the notion of thought-crime.

As Brooks says: “(Pichai) could have wrestled with the tension between population-level research and individual experience. He could have stood up for the free flow of information. Instead he joined the mob. He fired Damore and wrote, ‘To suggest a group of our colleagues have traits that make them less biologically suited to that work is offensive and not OK.’ That is a blatantly dishonest characterization of the memo. Damore wrote nothing like that about his Google colleagues. Either Pichai is unprepared to understand the research (unlikely), is not capable of handling complex data flows (a bad trait in a C.E.O.) or was simply too afraid to stand up to a mob.”

Or, worst of all, Pichai didn’t stand up to the mob because he agreed with the mob. But whatever, it’s a big problem for Google, and by extension for Silicon Valley in general.

Since its 1990s heyday, Silicon Valley has transformed from an unruly collection of aggressive upstarts disrupting existing industries to a flabby collection of near-monopolies, now busy enforcing gentry-liberal norms on their employees and customers. Whether it’s censoring right-leaning political figures, or firing employees who dare say something truthful but politically incorrect, there’s not much of the old startup spirit there. These are flabby overstaffed Big Business corporations, run by their HR departments. You might find more dynamism at General Motors, these days.

But worse yet, they exercise tremendous power and require tremendous trust. When you use Facebook or Google (or Twitter, or Amazon, or Netflix) you’re sharing a lot of data with a company that you have to trust won’t abuse that. It’s much harder to trust a company that has decided to aggressively pursue thoughtcrime. And it doesn’t matter where you are on the political spectrum – Damore describes himself as a centrist. But it only takes one politically incorrect utterance, as so many in academia have learned, to achieve Enemy Of The People status. And then, apparently, you’re fair game.

Can you trust a self-driving car from Google, if some new company policy might reprogram it to avoid events Google doesn’t approve? Can you trust Google to prevent its (apparently many) “social-justice warrior” employees from trawling through your personal data looking for dirt, and then leaking it?

As Robert Tracinski writes, this is the big danger for Google: “The most dangerous part is that they are now beginning to be seen by the public (or revealed, depending on how you look at it) as politicized entities. Politicized entities to whom we are giving enormous amounts of data on our lives, thoughts and interests.”

People were already agitating for stricter antitrust scrutiny of Google, Facebook and other Internet giants. One of the main protections those companies enjoyed against such scrutiny was their general image as benign and – aside from a vague sort of libertarianism – nonpolitical. Pichai’s handling of the Damore matter destroyed that image. Now Silicon Valley looks political, partisan and maybe even a bit sinister. It’s not a good look.

I think James Damore will wind up in the history books, if the books are honestly written (not guaranteed).

Today Google returned my blogging and email privileges.

It's a strange feeling when you are completely cut off like that, and it has prompted me to at least think about a personal website/blog with no relationship with the gargantuan guardians of communication. I need to look for a host, though, or a way to host it myself.

Lies jumped into the headlines almost immediately after the release of Damore's memo. Even though the memo is public now and available for anyone to read, apparently the Left depends upon their MSM to 'splain it to them. Or so the Leftist MSM seems to believe. Because the memo does not make the claims that much of (all of?) the MSM says it does. What it does do is to undercut the Victimhood meme, and to attribute the disproportionate population of males in tech to differences between males and females, and what it is that females actually want to do (apparently not that many want to code).

This thought fails the Left's narrative by declaring that [Victimhood Class: Women] is not perfectly equal in every aspect to [Oppressor Class: Men] (a heresy punishable by excommunication). It also presupposed, incorrectly, that science would be preferred over blind narrative, which was a naive view of the Leftist mind and emotional neediness.

The positions taken in the memo have been declared congruent with current science. No matter; the MSM has skewed the positions of the memos into unrecognizable false memes: blatant Lies.

If you go to Google and type in American inventors you get back from Google pictures of the top American inventors of all time.

The #1 American inventor of all time is Lewis Howard Latimer, who, I just learned, worked with both Edison and Bell.

Thomas Edison is in 6th place and a well-tanned Alexander Graham Bell in 9th place, with ten black inventors rounding out the top dozen.

In the second dozen, Samuel Morse is 19th, Eli Whitney 20th, and Ben Franklin 23rd. Everybody else is black.

The Wright Brothers don’t make the top 50 American inventors, according to Google.

Everything is relative these days - especially history. If history is just the opinion of Google and Wikipedia, then history is lost, replaced by Marxist leverage.

More Google employees are blowing the whistle about intimidation, discrimination, and dogma at the company following the firing of viewpoint diversity advocate James Damore.

Breitbart News’ interview series, Rebels of Google, has revealed an atmosphere of profound fear at the company, in which employees who challenge Google’s hyper-progressive narratives face bullying and ostracization from co-workers, and frequently find themselves added to blacklists aimed at destroying peoples’ careers both inside and outside Google.

Our last interviewee even described an incident in which someone was punched for expressing a contrary viewpoint.

In our latest interview, current Google employee (alias “Gordon”) reveals more stories of intolerance and dogma at the company. He describes senior managers at Google being on the “verge of tears” following Trump’s election win, “cult-like” diversity training sessions, and an autistic employee who was fired after questioning the idea of gender as a spectrum.

Every week, Google holds an end-of-week meeting with all its Mountain View employees called a “TGIF meeting” (Thank God It’s Friday). According to Gordon, the TGIF that followed Trump’s election victory was something to behold.

Because the "socials" have gone full SJW, alternative sources have started to appear. Today's example is the Google-owned YouTube jackbooting of conservative sites. This was made clear on August 1 this year as the YouTube memo was released declaring that hate speech would be "restricted". Since then a number of Right leaning videos have been shut off or demonitized or both. The Google march against free speech is gathering speed.

Free speech is a human right which does NOT apply to corporations or their products. Google violates no laws in suppressing the use of their products in order to promote their worldview - only.

This also has occurred in other venues, such as Wikipedia where Leftist censors prowl and rewrite history to suit their fancy. Google itself censors searches and accesses according to the demands of totalitarians such as China and Muslim nations. Google has suppressed search results for political purposes.

As they say, necessity is a mother. In the war on free speech, mother has spawned alternatives. The alternative to Wikipedia is Infogalactic. The alternative to Google search is DuckDuckGo.

The alternative to YouTube doesn't exist quite yet, but the effort has begun. Rebel Media is pursuing an App approach for creating user video-players which would be open and not censored, at least in terms of speech. (streaming of rapes and murders of course can't be tolerated, one would suppose). This effort has just begun since the Google threat of Aug 1 against speech on YouTube.

And they need cash. Seriously - if you can and are motivated by freedom, donate, even if just a little. I certainly intend to support this breakaway from the Google dynasty of totalitarianism and mind control.

Because this blog is on the blogspot.com Google application, there will come a time, possibly, when all anti-Leftist thought will have been detected by Google bots, and will be forced onto independent platforms, and I will have to find an alternative in order to just blog. Meantime, please support the alternatives which have emerged as free speech sites.

One leading activist in favor of Google modifying its results told Anadolu Agency he noticed the updated search results and thanked the company for its efforts but said “much still needs to be done.” He claimed that Google has a responsibility to “combat ‘hate-filled Islamophobia’ similar to how they work to suppress extremist propaganda from groups like Daesh and al-Qaeda."

This should have made Google executives stop and think.

The Islamic State (Daesh) and al-Qaeda slaughter people gleefully and call openly for more mass murders. Yet there is no firm evidence that anyone has ever been killed by a “hate-filled Islamophobe.” And the claim that the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the SPLC make in this article -- that this supposed “Islamophobic” rhetoric has led to a rise in hate crimes against Muslims -- is supported by not a scintilla of evidence.

This is purely about money, with no ethics or morals or principles applied. Google did the same thing for China, so that it wouldn't be banned from a kazillion chinese advertising targets. Google will do virtually anything for money. It would be "evil" not to.

Besides, all cultures are equal in all respects, right? Except for the obviously evil Christians and Right Wingers and maybe whites. Do you doubt that your skin tone can be used to bar you from certain search permissions? It would be easy to do.
