The FISA Fraud Memo

By now you've probably read the world-famous Nunes/House Intelligence Committee Memo regarding the criminal activity in the FBI, which focused on Donald Trump. The entire plot involved people at the top of the FBI using the bogus information created domestically at the behest of the DNC and paid for by Hillary's campaign.

They knew it was bogus and that Steele was a bogus source. Yet they used him - and get this - an article which he leaked to Yahoo! And while they knew all this, the FBI management asked FISA for permission to surveil Trump and associates, but withheld the information regarding the source of the "charge" against Trump (i.e., the DNC and Hillary's campaign).

So it was a purely political war of the FBI on Trump. And it still is, with Mueller doing who-knows-what with his "investigation".

The memo legitimizes the information previously known through leaks... and now the real fun begins.

History is being made; the bad guys are losing. The question is how badly will they lose.

We need a Robert Mueller resignation or a second special counsel

The only way to avoid a tainted investigation or a political explosion is another counsel to investigate possible obstruction of justice.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has a problem: He has a disqualifying conflict of interest regarding a large part of his work. It involves a choice between investigating or relying on former FBI director James Comey, a longtime close friend of Mueller’s.

Ideally, he’ll recognize that and resign. But if he doesn’t resign, Attorney General Jeff Sessions should appoint another special counsel to take over the obstruction-of-justice part of the investigation, where Mueller is disqualified.

At present, there are two investigations: One into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians (a claim that even Democrat Chris Matthews admitted fell apart after Comey’s recent testimony) and an investigation into whether, while being investigated for this claimed collusion, President Trump or someone else obstructed justice. That investigation is closely tied to Comey, and so is Mueller.

As Bill Otis wrote in these pages last week, Mueller is too close to Comey to be impartial, and that violates Justice Department conflict of interest rules. As Otis noted, “Comey and Mueller have been friends for nearly 15 years. They were partners in the episode that defined Comey's professional persona more than any other in his public service. It would be surprising if it had not also forged a permanent bond with Mueller ... Comey now finds himself at the center of the Russian investigation over which Mueller presides. Questions swirl around Comey — about whether the president wanted/hinted/hoped/asked/directed/or something else the investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn to be stopped/abandoned/slowed/soft-peddled/something else. This is probably the central element of the obstruction of justice case that Trump's opponents would like to see made against him. Questions also swirl about Comey's notes about this conversation and why he gave them to a private individual (professor Dan Richman of Columbia Law) to convey to journalists. Additional questions have arisen about whether this curious and seemingly devious means of putting the contents of the notes in the public domain (leaking, in other words) was designed specifically to bring about the appointment of a special counsel outside the president's direct reach — and, indeed, whether Comey wanted, expected or intended his friend Mueller to get the job.”

This violates the legal concept of an impartial and noninvested investigation and prosecution of possible misconduct: a weasel investigates another weasel, a member of the "Family"? That such a weasel was chosen as "independent" prosecutor; that such a weasel did not immediately refuse/recuse; that this has to be dug up by the non-MSM journalism class - all this indicates that the Deep State exists and defends itself slickly and silently and not in favor of either justice or the benefit of the USA.

Chris Matthews: Trump-Russia collusion theory 'came apart' with Comey testimony

Liberal MSNBC host Chris Matthews said Thursday the accusation that President Trump directly colluded with Russia to interfere in the U.S. election "came apart" following former FBI Director James Comey's testimony in front of Congress.

In his written and spoken testimony on Thursday, Comey said that he never felt that Trump had tried to impede the FBI's investigation into Russia, even that the president had encouraged it and he suggested that former national security adviser Mike Flynn wasn't at the heart of the investigation.

"The assumption of the critics of the president, of his pursuers, you might say, is that somewhere along the line in the last year is the president had something to do with colluding with the Russians … to affect the election in some way," Matthews said on MSNBC, following the testimony.

"And yet what came apart this morning was that theory," Matthews said, listing two reasons why. First, he said Comey revealed that "Flynn wasn't central to the Russian investigation," and secondly, he said that kills the idea that Flynn might have been in a position to testify against Trump.

"And if that's not the case, where's the there-there?" Matthews said.

Former FBI Director James Comey’s controversial decision to detail the FBI’s findings in the Hillary Clinton email case without Justice Department input was influenced by a dubious Russian document that the FBI now considers to be bad intelligence, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.

The secret document, which purported to be a piece of Russian intelligence, claimed that former Attorney General Loretta Lynch had privately assured someone in the Clinton campaign that the investigation into Clinton’s handling of classified information would go nowhere.

But according to people familiar with the matter, by August the FBI had come to believe the document was unreliable — and in fact may have been planted as a fake to confuse the FBI.
