Confronted with his lie on Wednesday night's debate, McCain blustered and filibustered in a manner reminiscent of Captain Queeg in "The Caine Mutiny," when he was caught in a lie during a navy inquiry.

When confronted with any of his misdeeds, Senator McCain tends to fall back on his record as a war hero in Vietnam.

Let's talk sense. Benedict Arnold was a war hero but that did not exempt him from condemnation for his later betrayal.

And since "war hero" is a blatant lie (apparently unknown to Sowell), McCain is always lying when he does this.

And there's more:

The passing years and a friendly media have allowed Senator McCain's shortcomings in the character and integrity department to fade into the background.

McCain was one of "the Keating five" -- Senators who used their influence to try to protect a failing savings & loan company, which also became the subject of a corruption investigation.

During the 2000 primaries, the Associated Press reported Senator McCain's joking about people with Alzheimer's.

This went beyond bad taste because (1) it was known at the time that Ronald Reagan was suffering from Alzheimer's and (2) the media to whom McCain was pandering hated Ronald Reagan.

It is especially ironic now to see McCain wrapping himself in the mantle of President Reagan.

It may all look like a done deal. But the McCain-Kennedy bill giving amnesty to illegal aliens looked like a done deal two years ago -- until the public realized the truth behind the spin and brought that sell-out to a screeching halt.

McCain has sold out not only with amnesty for illegal aliens but also sold out the First Amendment with the McCain-Feingold "campaign finance reform" bill that was supposed to take big money out of political campaigns, but blatantly has not.

McCain also sold out on judicial nominations by making his own side deal with the Democrats, undercutting Republican attempts to stop Democrats from filibustering judicial nominees instead of voting them up or down.

It's been quite a career for McCain, from large scale treason to smaller scale back-stabbing. With him, it's just who he is. Why, he must have been born corrupt.

The New Leftist Word For Traitor: "HERO" (Updated)

If you know anything at all about John McCain and his stay with the North Vietnamese, you are aware that he was a massive traitor, betraying all his knowledge about military positions and strategy; also he was the equivalent of Tokyo Rose, being the inter-prison-camp loudspeaker announcer for demoralizing the American POWs in all the prison camps. You are also aware that he scuttled certain attempts to find MIAs.

John McCain has always been a traitorous scumbag.

It is no wonder that the Left iconizes McCain. Even Trump was bullied into claiming - after first denouncing McCain - that McCain was a hero.

He was not.

Now he has betrayed the Republican Party with insane attacks on Trump, while traveling the world. Maybe he has always had a brain tumor. There's not much else to explain his "issues".

I find myself annoyed at the groundswell of good wishes for John McCain after his diagnosis of glioblastoma and have been thinking through why. A great line from Arendt's Eichmann in Jerusalem comes to mind regarding the valuing of elite lives over ordinary lives:
"There are more than a few people, especially among the cultural elite, who still publicly regret the fact that Germany sent Einstein packing, without realizing that it was a much greater crime to kill little Hans Cohn from around the corner, even though he was no genius."

This analogy should not be interpreted too strictly. McCain is certainly no Einstein and I don't mean just on brains. Einstein had very appealing humanist instincts, as a socialist, antiwar, anti-imperialist, and anti-statist Zionist. McCain is a war criminal and, more to the point. someone who as a politician has championed horrifying actions and been lousy on state commitment to public health. So dying or not, he's a risible public figure (I have no idea what he is like on the personal level and don't care).

But ultimately what troubles me is the urge to send such well wishes to an utter stranger as it reinforces the notion that some lives are more important than others. There are lots of people with glioblastoma and who have died from it (including my mother twenty years ago). I would much rather read random good wishes to contemporary little Hans Cohns than to politicians.

Each of these statements contains at least one lie.

After his capture in Viet Nam, McCain turned into an informer of military intelligence, and then he lied constantly and continually when he became the equivalent of Tokyo Rose by broadcasting lies over the Cong's inter-camp radio system, encouraging American POWs to commit treason just as he had done.

Yet he is not affected by any humility or apparent remorse, as he spreads lies and mongers fear across the Allies of the USA.

McCain is one of the remaining RINOs that needs to be purged from the Republican Party.

The cuckservatives will not ever go away. They will not become the Democrats which they really are. Under the false flag of "Conservatism", they will infest the Republican Party for a very long time. The AltRight just might not be strong enough to restore the constitutional guarantees, both of the Liberties For All, and the Justice for those of the obviously criminal political class. That being the case, then, hunger games will be the legacy of our times.

Note 1. McCain committed treason twice while a captive of the North Vietnamese. First he gave away military information to his captors. Second, he became the "Tokyo Rose" of the prisoner camps, broadcasting demoralizing propaganda over the NV official broadcast system to the other prisoners of war in his and other POW camps.
