NYC Will Fine You $250,000 For ‘Misgendering’ A Transsexual

Did you call a transsexual person “he” or “she” when they preferred to be called “zhe?” According to a newly updated anti-discrimination law in New York City, you could be fined an eye-watering $250,000.

In the latest, astonishing act of draconian political correctness, the NYC Commission on Human Rights have updated a law on “Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Expression” to threaten staggering financial penalties against property owners who “misgender” employees or tenants.

Incidents that are deemed “wilful and malicious” will see property owners face up to $250,000 in fines, while standard violations of the law will result in a $125,000 fine. For small business owners, these sums are crippling.

It’s not as simple as referring to transmen “he” or transwomen as “she,” either. The legislation makes it clear that if an individual desires, property owners will have to make use of “zhe,” “hir” and any other preferred pronoun. From the updated legislation:

The NYCHRL requires employers and covered entities to use an individual’s preferred name, pronoun and title (e.g., Ms./Mrs.) regardless of the individual’s sex assigned at birth, anatomy, gender, medical history, appearance, or the sex indicated on the individual’s identification. Most individuals and many transgender people use female or male pronouns and titles.

Some transgender and gender non-conforming people prefer to use pronouns other than he/him/his or she/her/hers, such as they/them/theirs or ze/hir

Other violations of the law include refusing to allow individuals to use single-sex facilities such as bathrooms that are “consistent with their gender identity,” failing to provide employee health benefits for “gender-affirming care” and “imposing different uniforms or grooming standards based on sex or gender.”

Freaking insane. Punitive Progressive Totalitarianism. Legislating and protecting from butthurt.

Minimum Wage, And Those Left Out By The Left

"Undeterred, Cuomo turned to an unelected wage board to increase the minimum hourly wage for only fast food workers to $15.00. This increase will be fully phased in by 2018 for New York City and 2021 for the rest of the state.

Despite Cuomo's undemocratic and arbitrary tactics, it is no surprise that increasing the minimum wage is popular with the public. Anyone with a heart wants their fellow Americans to earn more. People also understand that supporting a family on $9.00 an hour is unbelievably difficult.

But supporting a family without a job is even harder. And, thankfully, poor families are not the norm when it comes to minimum wage workers. Over half of the 3 percent of American workers who earn the minimum wage are between 16 and 24 years old. Two-thirds work only part-time.

Minimum wage jobs are not careers. They provide critical work experience that school simply cannot teach for those who haven't worked before. If young people cannot get their first jobs, they cannot get their second or their third jobs.

While some workers will get a raise if the minimum wage is increased, this will come at the expense of cutting off opportunity for the young. Unsurprisingly, because the minimum wage makes it effectively illegal for employers to hire the least-skilled workers, the unemployment rates for teens in high-minimum wage states are higher than those in low-minimum wage states. The real minimum wage is $0 an hour, because employers always have the choice to let employees go, or not hire them at all."

In the age of robotics, employees are not so critical to a business such as fast food. And those chains large enough to automate will kill off lesser competition which has to pay $15 to employees.

And with the real minimum wage being $0, the ratio of inequality is actually $15/$0 = infinity.

When decisions are made based on a flawed narrative rather than (common sense)*(resources), the outcome will predictably be disastrous. Businesses will compensate with unforseen consequences, at least unforseen by the flawed Leftist narrative. Or perhaps they are intended, possibly as part of the ongoing inflation needed by the Left to accommodate their rampant spending, cash for power.

"We even know there are employment agencies who have a policy of only taking on polish workers which is an utter disgrace.

3. The key to success of the New Media is making news by breaking news. What people want to hear, what is important in an information-saturated world, is not research or commentary or opinion or reaction, but news. Get there first and report what you see, don’t comment on what other people say or think. Your ideas and opinions are not news. Never start with “I think” or “I happen to believe.”

4. Be open about the secrets and sins of yourself and your spokespersons. Once it’s out there, there isn’t much the left can do with it – you already admitted it. Say “that’s not news” and move on. See Rule #3: “That’s not news, so why are you still talking about it?” When confronted with your own past mistakes, embrace them. Don’t talk about how you regret them, don’t apologize, don’t explain. Say you lived through them and they made you who you are today. Embracing your mistakes makes you invulnerable to their slings.

5. Accuse the other side of hypocrisy. Use the words: “You are so hypocritical… you are a hypocrite.” The right is cited with it all the time because we actually have standards, they know it, and part of their Alinsky playbook is to try to embarrass us by holding us to our own standards. Everything bad they accuse us of doing, they are doing themselves. They lie, exaggerate, cherry-pick, live indulgent and wasteful lives, throw allies under the bus (e.g., native Americans, the poor, endangered species), etc. Hypocrisy appeals directly to the emotional heart of politics: one standard for you, another for me.

6. Don’t let the other side characterize you or shape the narrative. Object to labels and force them to report/register your objection. It’s not big business against the environment or the little guy, it’s the little guy against Big Environment, Big Labor, Big Government. If you refuse to buy into their lexicon, if you refuse to back down in the face of those intimidation tactics, they can’t harm you.

7. Express righteous indignation. Don’t just call them out, express your own outrage at being falsely accused. Point out that what they’re doing is pure Alinsky and that it has no basis in fact or reality. For example, say they’re showing themselves to be racists in their own right by citing race every time they meet someone with whom they disagree.

8. Dismiss phony accusations and labels out of hand as being ridiculous, then immediately go on the offense. Don’t start by defending yourself against baseless charges, dismiss them out of hand as ridiculous. Say he is a punk for leveling that kind of charge without any basis whatsoever. Demand that they back up their charges with specifics, and when they can’t, counter-charge them with hypocrisy (see Rule #5).

9. Control your story by serializing it. Think ahead to the next step of the argument, the debate, the longer-term strategy. View the current encounter as just one step, anticipate their response and plan your next step. Serialization is one way to do this: Van Jones was taken down by Glenn Beck because Beck had the goods – and because he revealed them piece by piece. He got them to come out of the closet and attack him. then he calmly laid his cards on the table, one by one.

10. Feed the media, starve your critics. Feeding the media is like training a dog – you can’t throw an entire steak at a dog to train it to sit. You have to give it little bits of steak over and over and over again until it learns its lesson. Meanwhile, give your critics nothing so they have nothing to report . Give them nothing to report (Rule #3), anticipate their response and force them to react to your story over and over again (Rule #9).

11. Ubiquity is key. When the MSM is ignoring you, develop relationships with like0-minded allies or even enemies and news junkies and allow them to share in the good fortune of a good scoop. Ubiquity is about growing the pie for everyone, spreading the stories, the channels of distribution, the resources around so that the entire movement can benefit, because our chunk of the public square gets bigger and bigger each time we break something huge.

12. Engage in the social media. Building a movement used to take time, but now it can be done in a few hours with the right connections and the right posts on the right websites. Use Facebook and Twitter and texting.

13. Don’t pretend to know more than you do. It feeds our ego and, we think, plays to our strength, but nobody can be an expert on everything, and nobody likes the guy who thinks he is but then flubs answers to seemingly simple questions. Instead of playing the know-it all, play Socrates, asking pointed questions rather than citing facts we may not be sure of.

14. Only accept media invites where you control the terms of engagement. Be generous with your time with friendly reporters, bloggers, and allies. In contrast, don’t agree to long interviews with hostile reporters which result in only a couple sentences taken out of context in a hit-piece published a week later. Insist of being interviewed live on television shows, know who the other guests are in advance so you can prepare, insist that the topic be something you want to discuss and are prepared to discuss and not “open-ended” or “to be decided.”

#15. Don’t let them pretend to know more than they do. The other guys will pretend to know more than they do, and because they seldom stray outside their friendly media zones they will not be prepared for demands that they prove their claims or the presentation of counter facts. You can always puncture their balloon with one word: why. Asking them to provide evidence for their assertions is always fun, and it’s even more fun asking them to provide the sources for that evidence. Reason is not their strong suit, emotion is. Force them to play on the football field of reason.

#16. Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. This is one of Alinksy’s rules, and he’s right. Memorable put downs of our opponents and their ideas can stick to them for a long time and damage their credibility. Create an unfavorable image that people can retrieve whenever a name (Al Gore) or idea (global warming, gun control) is mentioned. Images that are funny last the longest.

#17. Don’t let them get away with ignoring their own rules. This is another Alinsky rule: point out how their position contradicts some other position they hold, make them explain how killing barred owls to protect northern spotted owls helps the environment, how windmills that kill golden eagles and bats are good for the environment, why Indians are not allowed to use fracking on their own lands.

#18. Truth isn’t mean. It’s the truth. Don’t be afraid to say we are for the truth. “We’re not here to try to sell you anything. We’re just devoted to finding the truth.” Contrast the truth with “spin” and “political agendas.” The left is too deep into subjectivism and post-modern deconstructionism to believe the “truth” exists, so they will stumble and stutter when confronted with someone who naively believes it does. In a public debate, where most people do believe there is objective truth, saying you’re on the side of truth is good.

#19. Believe in the audacity of hope. Optimists win debates and elections and sell the most books. Do not be the guy on the panel who is dour, frowning, and the source of bad news. Be the guy who is smiling, looking up and around, laughing at everyone’s jokes, and eager to comment. Say “apathy is suicide” and “every problem has a solution, and the benefits of solving really big problems are huge.” Say we are winning… the debate, public support, the future. People like
winners, they look for horses to which to hook their wagons. Be that horse. Compete to pull the audience’s wagons. "

There's some slight discontinuity betweeen 1, 5, and 7. And I don't like 16. Mostly, though, the message is boldness, truth and persistence in the face of the enemy, and they ARE the enemy of both truth and freedom.

"I mention the sad state of American journalism because yesterday we got a fleeting glimpse of the tip of what I believe is a very large iceberg; and, if there were any investigative journalists left, they could really go to town.

Yesterday, Katie Pavlich, Debra Heine, and Ed Driscoll drew our attention to a demonstration, unmentioned in the mainstream media, that took place in St. Louis and eventuated in the occupation of the offices of an outfit called MORE – Missourians for Organizing Reform and Empowerment. MORE is an offshoot of ACORN, and it is funded in part by George Soros’ omnipresent Open Society Institute (which has spent something like $5 billion supporting such outfits in recent years).

What makes this particular demonstration newsworthy is the fact that the demonstrators were demanding that they be paid, as promised, for the work they did in organizing demonstrations in Ferguson last summer. Here is part of what Debra Heine reports:

According to the January tax filings of his nonprofit Open Society Foundations, Mr. Soros gave at least $33 million in one year to support already-established groups to organize on-the-ground activists in Ferguson. Two of those organizations, MORE (Missourians Organizing For Reform and Empowerment) and OBS (Organization for Black Struggle) have been financing #BlackLivesMatter protests in Ferguson and elsewhere. That is – those organizations actually pay people to show up at venues to do their clapping, chanting, and sign waving routines.

Think a bit about this. In recent years – since Barack Obama took office – we have witnessed a great deal of thuggish conduct. Do you remember Occupy Wall Street? The demonstrations that the community-relations division of the Department of Justice helped organize against George Zimmerman in Florida? The riots in Ferguson, Missouri? The disruptive demonstrations in the Supreme Court building regarding Citizens United as the court began its last session? Those that recently interrupted Senate hearings? The demonstrations in New York and Boston that took place in the wake of Eric Garner’s death? And the recent riots in Baltimore?

The press has treated all of these as a series of spontaneous eruptions occasioned by understandable outrage on the part of the demonstrators. What we learned yesterday shows that much of what happened in Ferguson was theater."

It's now common knowledge that the Left, being without actual morals outside of class war, produces people who are phony liars, and who do not honor debts (such as taxes) if there's any way to get out of it.

Professors on the panel said men should not be allowed to speak first in class discussions.

Create an unfavorable image that people can retrieve whenever a name (Al Gore) or idea (global warming, gun control) is mentioned. Images that are funny last the longest.

#17. Don’t let them get away with ignoring their own rules. This is another Alinsky rule: point out how their position contradicts some other position they hold, make them explain how killing barred owls to protect northern spotted owls helps the environment, how windmills that kill golden eagles and bats are good for the environment, why Indians are not allowed to use fracking on their own lands.

#18. Truth isn’t mean. It’s the truth. Don’t be afraid to say we are for the truth. “We’re not here to try to sell you anything. We’re just devoted to finding the truth.” Contrast the truth with “spin” and “political agendas.” The left is too deep into subjectivism and post-modern deconstructionism to believe the “truth” exists, so they will stumble and stutter when confronted with someone who naively believes it does. In a public debate, where most people do believe there is objective truth, saying you’re on the side of truth is good.

#19. Believe in the audacity of hope. Optimists win debates and elections and sell the most books. Do not be the guy on the panel who is dour, frowning, and the source of bad news. Be the guy who is smiling, looking up and around, laughing at everyone’s jokes, and eager to comment. Say “apathy is suicide” and “every problem has a solution, and the benefits of solving really big problems are huge.” Say we are winning… the debate, public support, the future. People like
winners, they look for horses to which to hook their wagons. Be that horse. Compete to pull the audience’s wagons. "

There's some slight discontinuity betweeen 1, 5, and 7. And I don't like 16. Mostly, though, the message is boldness, truth and persistence in the face of the enemy, and they ARE the enemy of both truth and freedom.

Leftists and the Catholic Apocalypse

Catholics are staying out of their own parades due to their seizure by LGBTQONFLIUFBKS. Tolerance of all things anti-Christian has brought the Left to a "Catholic Apocalypse":

The liberal assault on faith has consequences -- and the hemorrhaging of Catholic votes is one of them. Evangelicals aren't the only ones sick of seeing the President use the Bible as a bat to beat them over the heads with.

Catholics are bolting from the Democratic Party so rapidly that Pew Research Center now says 53% of white Catholics now favor the GOP (compared to the Democrats' 39%), the "largest point spread in the history of the Pew poll." And the evidence is sitting in Congress. When President Obama was swept into office, there were 98 Catholic Democrats in the House and 37 Catholic Republicans. Barely six years later, there are two times as many Catholic Republicans in the House (69) and 68 Democrats.

And experts didn't have to do much digging to see why. The number of Catholics who said Obama was "unfriendly to religion" has more than doubled in the President's two terms -- from 17% to 36%. While the White House is busy building his legacy on the debris of the First Amendment, more churchgoers are turning their backs on his open aggression to the Christian faith. Things turned sour in the ObamaCare debate, when the President demanded that Christians bow at the altar of taxpayer-funded abortion.

Going where no government had gone before, the administration ordered religious business owners, schools, charities, and nonprofits to surrender their beliefs and pay for coverage that violated their moral beliefs -- or pay crippling fines. The courts are still trying to clean up that mess, as dozens of organizations continue to sue for rights they've enjoyed since America's founding -- the freedom to believe and live according to those beliefs. Of course, it didn't help that the White House's hostility extended to a group of Catholic nuns: Little Sisters of the Poor. As far as HHS was concerned, even they should have to pay for contraception and abortion-causing drugs!

The onslaught hit Catholic Charities next, when the administration stripped the group of millions of dollars in grants for human trafficking victims because the program was too pro-life. In Massachusetts and Illinois, other branches of Catholic Charities had to close their doors on their adoption programs when Democrats ordered them to place kids with same-sex couples. Then, we watched as the President flung open the doors to same-sex "marriage," rewriting federal laws and refusing to enforce others.

No wonder the Democratic Party is facing a "Catholic apocalypse!" Everything the Left does seems to put them at odds with core values of Christianity. Stephen Schneck, a political analyst at Catholic University, pointed out that "more and more of (Catholics) who remain are those who actively choose to embrace the church and its teachings."

There is no perversion which will not, ultimately, be embraced by the Left as being part of the natural, total Kinseyan spectrum of normal human behaviors, which, being human behaviors and thus "natural", cannot be rejected by bigots as "evil".

Planet Fitness cancels woman's membership after her complaints of transgender woman in locker room
"MIDLAND, MI -- A Midland County woman's gym membership was canceled after she refused to stop telling fellow gym members "a man" was using the woman's locker room.

Yvette Cormier said the incident occurred Saturday, Feb. 28, when she entered the women's locker room at the Planet Fitness location at 701 Joe Mann Boulevard in Midland.

"I was blocked, because a man was standing there," Cormier said. "It freaked me out because, why is a man in here?"

Cormier said an employee at the front desk told her that the individual identifies as a woman.

After taking her complaints to Planet Fitness' corporate office, Cormier said she was told that the gym was a "no judgement zone" and they would not tell the individual in question to stay out of the women's locker room. The person has not been identified.

Having your gonads removed and replaced by a fake vaginal void, and being aslosh with estrogen dosing does not make one into a woman. Worse, "identifying" oneself as a woman does not make one into a woman. That process produces a modified man who is still a man, but modified.

But the worst is the logical failure of declaring the statement, "there is a man in the women's locker room", to be a judgment call, when it is actually an empirical observation.

The customer is better off out and away from Planet fitness; her presence there is of less value to the management than that of the sexually confused individual. And that is the management's form of value judgment, put on display.

There is one caveat, though. It is possible that the management fears legal reprisal from the tranny (which would have traction as a hate crime these days), and does not fear any such legal action by this cisgendered ex-customer who has little legal leverage. That is reverse discrimination, of course, and is caused by the unequal laws now in force.

So at bottom, the "no judgment zone" produces discrimination against actual women in favor of modified men.

While the Left hammers and bleats about the Koch Brothers, the leftist billionaires like Steyer and Soros buy politics and politicians with immunity.

Eric Holder Recommends Easier Laws For Declaring His War On Whites

That is the essence of what he has said, and the essence of his actions as racist-in-charge of the US Justice Department. Consider his equal lack of concern for the killing of black teens by murderous Illegal Aliens. The Illegal Aliens are more precious than even blacks, apparently. The persecution and prosecution of whites is all that Holder cares about.

He is dismayed that he has no evidence to use for persecuting/prosecuting his enemies (whites), so he wants lower standards for thought crimes. Possibly these crimes could just be presupposed, based on skin color, or class, or some other unrelated attribute. That would make racial persecution of whites by blacks/Leftists easier.

Holder brought racism directly into the job, operated as a black racist while in the job, and leaves spouting racist excuses for not doing more as a racist in the job.

Barronelle Stutzman, a Washington State florist who declined to provide flowers for a gay wedding , has rejected a deal by the attorney general’s office that would’ve forced her to betray her religious beliefs – much like Judas betrayed Jesus.

“You are asking me to walk in the way of a well-known betrayer, one who sold something of infinite worth for 30 pieces of silver,” Stutzman wrote in a letter to state Attorney General Bob Ferguson. “That is something I will not do.”

Stutzman said she never imagined the day when what she loved to do would become illegal.

Ferguson had offered to settle the case if she paid a $2,000 penalty for violating the Consumer Protection Act, a $1 payment for costs and fees, and agreed not to discriminate in the future.

“My primary goal has always been to bring about an end to the defendant’s unlawful conduct and to make clear that I will not tolerate discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation,” Ferguson said in a prepared statement.

On Feb. 18 a judge ruled Stutzman had violated the law by refusing to provide flowers for the same-sex wedding of a longtime customer. The state had not only gone after the flower shop but also Stutzman personally.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the religious liberty law firm representing Stutzman, said legal bills could be as high as seven figures.

“He’s using the full power of his office to personally and professionally destroy her,” ADF attorney Kristen Waggoner told me."

Note the arrogance of the "I will not tolerate" boast. I support the ADF.
